Thank-you for your interest in LuMu’s Design Services. Our project timeline is currently full and we are not undertaking any new work for the immediate future. Please email us for further information at

Whether it's a full residential/commercial interior, landscape design, graphic/sculptural artwork commission, decorative, or styling project, we begin by establishing the brief.

Project Brief and Initial Consultation: This is where you tell us what you want. we establish the scope of the project and the services we can offer. Our Client Project Brief Submission is how we start gathering information about the clients needs. we review each submission and, if we think we're a good fit for you, we'll tee up an initial client meeting to finalise the brief, and create a proposal.

Project Proposal and Agreement: The project proposal outlines the scope of the project, based on the client's brief. This is where we begin documenting the project and services to be provided. It is presented in conjunction with a project agreement, fee schedule, and terms of engagement. Upon acceptance of the agreement, the project begins.

Project Phases

1) Concept Design and Schematics: Preparation of schematic design, illustrated by preliminary sketch drawings, preliminary selection of furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E). Developed concept proposals.

2) Design Development: Preparation of developed design, including developed sketch drawings and concept boards, for the implementation phase of the project.

3) Design Management and Documentation (if applicable): Preparation of documents including appropriate working drawings and schedules of finishes, for the implementation phase of the project.

4) Project Management and Compliance (if applicable): Management of any third-party contractors on the project and appropriate approvals if required

5) Implementation and Installation: Supply, installation, and finalisation of project.

LuMu’s Design practice (Interiors, Studio and Garden) offers a diverse portfolio of landscaping, garden and outdoor design ideas. Whatever the scope of the project, large or small, our goal is to turn our clients vision into a breathtaking and functional outdoor space.

LuMu Gardens was established as a complimentary service to our interior design practice in 2014. LuMu has created inspiring landscapes for many clients across Sydney and has grown to comprise an experienced team of designers, project managers and horticulturalists. Below is an explanation of the design process offered by LuMu Gardens:

Design Process

Step One : On-site Consultation: Our design representatives will conduct and on-site consultation with you. Our experienced team will discuss the scope of works, your needs and requirements, and what you would like to achieve in your garden. This is also a great opportunity for us to gain an understanding of the site, conditions, uses and characteristics.

Step Two : Schematic Design: After our initial consultation, a schematic design will be formulated. The design will be based on your discussions in the initial consultation and will outline the basic structure, theme, forms and functions of the landscape.

Step Three : Detailed Design: Once the approval of the schematic design is received, a detailed documentation package will be produced. This final documentation will display / explain finishes, construction details, planting schedule and materials.

Step Four : Construction: LuMu Gardens works closely with a tight-knit team of qualified and highly experienced contractors to make your design a reality. We also offer a project management service to ensure our standards of high quality are met and completed on schedule.

Step Five : Maintenance: LuMu Gardens has developed an affiliation with a well-established landscape maintenance company which works exclusively on our completed projects. These talented professionals can keep your new garden in in tip-top condition and can help your garden to grow and mature into the design originally envisaged.
